Our Impact, Our Progress and Our Plan for the Future
Today sees the publication of MCM’s first Sustainability Report for 2022, a vital step in understanding our impact on the world and our key areas for focus. The report is a detailed examination of our journey towards Net Zero carbon emissions by 2050. Whilst understanding there is much more to achieve, we are proud it highlights the following progress:
FOR PLANET
- The validation of our climate targets by the Science-Based Targets initiative
- On track to have 100% energy purchased from renewable sources as of 2024
- A 21% reduction in GHG emissions (2022 compared with 2021) by shifting to more responsible, lower impact materials and reducing airfreight
- Awarded the Positive Luxury Butterfly Mark Certification
- Focusing on circularity by upcycling over 21,000m surplus materials and by increasing repairs x5 (since 2019)
- 74% of our packaging is plastic free
FOR PEOPLE
- 50/50 gender split across leadership positions
- A company-wide gender ratio of 32% men to 68% women
- Over 338 hours of corporate volunteering in several different initiatives worldwide
FOR MCM
- Establishing MCM Vision 2030 as a company-wide purpose to reduce emissions, to further climate and ecosystem protection, and to foster innovation, circularity and inclusive growth.
- Implementing a monthly governance and reporting process
- Appointing best in class partners to measure our progress, including the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), Positive Luxury, Worldly and South Pole.
Our commitment to a more responsible path for the future defines our every decision.
We do this not just for the benefit of our stakeholders and the long term health of our business, but out of genuine care for people and planet.
